  • Searchmont - Montreal River Harbour - Batchawana Bay
  • Elliot Lake - Ranger Lake
  • Blind River - Thessalon
  • Espanola - Killarney

Snowstorm beginning this evening.

A low-pressure system from Texas will bring an area of snow with it, arriving early this evening in the Sault Ste. Marie area. The snow will then quickly spread to remaining regions north of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay by midnight.

Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm are expected by mid-morning on Tuesday.

The snow will taper to a few flurries Tuesday morning as the low moves across Lake Huron and Georgian Bay into Quebec.

Driving conditions will quickly deteriorate after the snow arrives this evening. Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Wawa - Pukaskwa Park
  • White River - Dubreuilville

Significant snowfall tonight.

A low-pressure system from Texas will bring a total snowfall amount of 10 to 15 cm tonight.

Gusty southerly winds may cause occasional blowing snow in exposed areas this evening.

The snow will taper to a few flurries Tuesday morning as the low moves across Lake Huron and Georgian Bay into Quebec.

Poor winter driving conditions are expected. Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination.

The snowfall warning criterion of 15 cm in a 12 hour period is not expected to be reached.
