Snow Squall Warning in effect for:
- Searchmont - Montreal River Harbour - Batchawana Bay
Persistent snow squalls are expected. Visibilities will be rapidly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow.
What: Additional local snowfall accumulations of 20 to 30 cm. Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 5 cm per hour are possible. Poor to near zero visibility in snow and local blowing snow.
When: Continuing through tonight. Additional information: The snow squalls may weaken at times but are still expected to persist into tonight.
Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Road closures are possible. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
