A video of an unidentifiable Tim Hortons employee arguing with a customer — in an incident which is purported to have taken place earlier this week at a franchise in Sault Ste. Marie — has gone viral on Facebook.
The video captures an exchange between a woman who identifies herself as Jacqueline Perras, of Barrie, and a Tim Hortons employee, in which the employee can be heard telling Perras, “go sit your fat ass down, I don’t want to talk to you.”
The employee then tells Perras to “sit her f***king fat ass down.”
In the video, Perras tells viewers that she bought a stranger a coffee and some food, then took a selfie with the stranger. The Tim Hortons employee can be heard in the video telling Perras that pictures inside the establishment were not permitted and that police had been called.
According to the video, the exchange took place in Sault Ste. Marie on the evening of Dec. 7. So far, the video has been viewed more than 144,000 times and shared more than 2,800 times on the popular social media site.
Although the corporate office of Tim Hortons has not yet confirmed the exact date and location, a spokesperson told SooToday the restaurant owner has advised the corporate office that the employee has been 'terminated' as a result of the incident.
Perras — whose Facebook profile identifies her as a resident of Barrie, Ont. — could not immediately be reached for comment.
