UPDATE:
A single-vehicle accident north of the Sault has been cleared, the Ontario511 traffic information service says.
As police responded to the mishap involving an SUV pulling a trailer, the closure was reduced to the eastbound lane and shoulder.
The highway was fully reopened at around 7 p.m.
Reader submitted photos show a smaller sized silver SUV resting on its roof, and the trailer on its side, with the vehicle and trailer still attached.
There was no information on injuries from the mishap.
EARLIER REPORT:
A collision has shut down a section of Highway 17 east of Montreal River Harbour.
According to Ontario 511, the highway is closed in both directions at Rainwick Uranium Mine Rd (E).
It did not provide an estimated time of reopening.
