Sault’s newest pizza chain ready for a challenge

Located on Great Northern Road, the Canadian retail chain Red Swan Pizza offers sesame seed, cauliflower, keto-friendly, and gluten-free crusts on its 40+ kinds of pizzas

There aren’t many more competitive markets in the Sault than the local pizza business, but that isn’t stopping Meet and Ketan Patel from getting in on the action.

Red Swan Pizza has been open for business since Feb. 24. It operates next to Maslack Automotive on Great Northern Road.

The Saskatchewan-based chain has 43 locations around Ontario and offers more than 40 kinds of traditional and gourmet pizzas, as well as an assortment of wings, salads, appetizers, and desserts.

Their menu includes more than 40 toppings, ranging from barbeque shrimp and lean beef to butter chicken and chorizo sausage.

Halal, keto-friendly, gluten-free, and vegan options are also available.

This is Ketan Patel’s third restaurant in town as he currently owns Prairie Donair (Second Line West) and Fat Bastard Burrito (Churchill Plaza).

His nephew Meet Patel co-owns Red Swan Pizza with him, and he’s excited to begin this new venture.

“It’s an excellent location; it’s such a nice spot,” he says. “Sault College students have been coming in already – it’s great.”

Originally from India, Patel lived in Scarborough, Ont. for six years and was a Tim Hortons manager before moving to the Sault last month.

Recognizing the pizza game is competitive in town, Patel says their affordable prices and diverse menu should help make them stand out.

“Our prices are competitive with other places in the Sault,” he says. “We’re making everything from scratch every day – nothing’s frozen. We have something for everyone here.”
