ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION BRANCH 25
************************
Congratulations to Major Pierre Breckenridge (of 2310 Royal Canadian Army Cadets and Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 1st vice-president), who has received the Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers.

The award recognizes exceptional volunteer achievements across Canada and abroad, celebrating a wide range of voluntary contributions. As an official honour created by the Crown, the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers is part of the Canadian Honours System. The medal recognizes living Canadians who have made a significant, sustained and unpaid contribution to their community, in Canada or abroad.

Major Breckenridge's nomination was a joint submission by Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25, the local cadet program and the city of Sault Ste. Marie Mayor's office.

The nomination highlighted his three decades of volunteer work with Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 and four decades of volunteer work with 2310 Royal Canadian Army Cadets, in addition to a number of community organizations, including Focus Anti-Drug Community Coalition, Big Brothers, United Way, John Howard Society and over 25 year as a volunteer Employee Assistance Program referral agent at Algoma Steel.
