The Sault Steelers are national champions. After being shutout in the first quarter, the Steelers exploded for 59 points in the final three quarters to easily dispose of the Alberta Football League champion Edmonton Stallions 59-10.

The victory gives the Northern Football Conference champion Steelers their first Canadian Major Football League championship since 1972.
