Upwards of 40 ringette teams are set to visit the Sault Ringette Club in March after the city was chosen to host the 2025 Ringette Ontario Provincial A Championships.
Taking place from March 13-16, this event will bring together elite athletes, coaches, and fans from across the province, generating an economic impact of over $1.5 million to the city.

The Sault Ringette Club, in partnership with Ringette Ontario, has been selected to host the 2025 Ringette Ontario Provincial A Championships from March 13 to 16, 2025. This prestigious event will bring together elite athletes, coaches, and fans from across the province, showcasing the talent, teamwork, and spirit that define the sport of ringette.
Upwards of 40 teams ranging from U14 to 18+ will come from across the province to compete for the coveted A Provincial Championship. The event promises high-caliber competition and a significant economic and cultural boost for the community. Visitors are expected to fill local hotels, restaurants, and attractions, generating an economic impact of over $1.5 million to the City of Sault Ste. Marie.
Ringette is a thrilling sport that is often celebrated as the fastest game on ice. Invented in North Bay, Ontario in 1963 to provide girls with a competitive ice game, it has evolved into a fast-paced, team-driven sport enjoyed by players worldwide.
