The Sault Ste. Marie Museum will begin its plan for phased re-opening to the public beginning Tuesday, July 7 2020, under Stage 2 of Ontario’s re-opening plan.
Visitation at this time will be by appointment only and visitors will be asked to wear their own masks in order to protect the safety of staff and visitors, but also to ensure that our historic collections remain safe and stable. Upon arrival visitors will be asked to enter from the back-parking lot via the buzzer beside the door. Any visits that are not booked in advance may be not be allowed upon discretion of staff. Anyone experiencing any symptoms will be asked to return home and self quarantine.
“We are excited to begin out process of re-opening and welcoming back our community and visitors. We however will continue to take guidance from the Province of Ontario and public health officials to limit risks to our staff and visitors. We are hopeful that we can get back to some of our exciting summer programming and sharing our history with you all. We can’t wait for you to come down and discover YOUR Museum, but in the meantime, stay tuned for some exciting projects we have coming up!” – Will Hollingshead (Executive Director & Chief Curator).
The site will be open beginning July 7, Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. by appointment only. For more information contact the Sault Ste Marie Museum by phone at (705) 759-7278 or by email: [email protected].
