While students of Algoma university are expected to return to in-class learning on Feb. 7, a spokesperson for Sault College says the current semester is expected to continue with a mix of in-class and virtual learning.

At the beginning of the winter semester, Sault College made the decision to change delivery of classes to be mostly virtual in nature, with only the students requiring on-campus practical learning to be on campus.

The easing of restrictions by the province will have no immediate effect, said Rick Webb, director of communications for Sault College.

"The College has no immediate plans to change our winter semester delivery," said Webb. "We currently have a mix of in-person and remote classes dependant on programming needs. At this time, we anticipate completing the semester as we began."

The winter semester runs from Jan. 10 to Apr. 29.

In a statement sent in December, a spokesperson said the college made the decision to restrict the number of in-person classes for the winter semester after reviewing the COVID-19 situation and impacts of the Omicron variant.

All classes in the Brampton and Toronto campuses have been conducted remotely for the winter semester.
