Taking place July 31 at 8:15 a.m., this event is an opportunity for local businesses to talk directly with the federal minister and MP about a range of topics.

The Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce is excited to host a Fireside Chat with the honourable Rechie Valdez, Federal Minister of Small Business, and Sault Ste. Marie Member of Parliament, Terry Sheehan as they discuss bridging gaps, overcoming challenges, and powering the Canadian economy.
Rechie Valdez is Canada’s Minister of Small Business and was elected as the Member of Parliament for Mississauga—Streetsville in 2021. She is a mother of two, wife, Canadian entrepreneur, television personality, and community advocate. She is the first Filipino-Canadian woman elected as a Member of Parliament and appointed to Cabinet.
Before politics, Minister Valdez owned and operated a small bakery business and was the host of a TV show that shares the stories of entrepreneurs, creators, and artists. Prior to that, she worked in corporate banking for 15 years. Born and raised in Zambia, Minister Valdez immigrated to Canada with her family in 1989.
This Fireside Chat presents an opportunity for our local businesses to converse directly to the Minister and MP, about a range of topics that will allow our government to hear from the frontline businesses.
This Fireside Chat will be held next Wednesday, July 31st at the Quattro Hotel & Conference Centre (229 Great Northern Road) in the Great Lakes Room from 8:15 a.m. to 10 a.m.
There will be a hot breakfast (buffet style) provided as well as a coffee and tea station.
