Some road closures are set ahead of the annual Rotary Community Day Parade on July 20.

With a portion of Queen Street now under construction, this year's Rotary Community Day Parade will look a bit different.

Sault Police released a map of the route this morning, reminding residents of road closures on July 20.

"Starting at 9:30 a.m. Queen Street East will be closed from Pim Street to Churchill Boulevard," says a police news release. "This area will be used as a staging area for the parade and will be closed until approximately noon."

Additionally, Church Street will be closed at 9:30 a.m. before reopening to traffic around noon.

The parade route (Lower Pim Street to Bay Street to Andrew Street) will be closed at 10:30 a.m. and will re-open around 1 p.m. as the parade wraps up.

With hopes of keeping the parade route free from obstructions, access to St. Mary’s River Drive and Foster Drive will also be limited starting at 9:30 a.m.

Any vehicle found on the parade route after 9:30 a.m. will be towed from the area and residents should expect traffic delays in the downtown core throughout the parade.

Police are also reminding drivers that there will be an increased number of pedestrians in the area.

"We thank you for your cooperation and wish everyone a safe and happy Rotaryfest."
