1 / 1 Local naval, army and air force cadets and officers, along with Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 members and the public, commemorated the Second World War’s Battle of the Atlantic (1939-1945, at its height from 1939 to 1943) at the Sault Ste. Marie waterfront, May 5, 2019. The Royal Canadian Navy suffered 2,210 fatalities and lost 33 vessels, the merchant navy lost over 70 ships and suffered over 1,700 fatalities. Darren Taylor/SooToday
