Police have released the identity of a teen who faces multiple charges after an incident Saturday morning that sent another man to hospital in Toronto with what police have described as 'extensive injuries.'

Police say police were called to the Pine Plaza parking lot around 2:20 a.m. Saturday for a report of a single motor vehicle collision involving a 25-year-old pedestrian.

Police say an 18-year-old male turned himself in to police later in the day.

The pedestrian injured in the incident is an employee at Sault College, the school has confirmed.

Nicholas Robert Berto, 18, of Queen Street East, is charged with impaired driving causing harm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and failing to remain.

He is expected to appear in bail court this morning.
