Sault native Pat King, a principal organizer of the Ottawa vaccine mandate protests, is reporting he's been arrested in downtown Ottawa.

Canadian Press and CTV news are also reporting his arrest.

"I'm being arrested right now," King says in a video posted on social media, as an officer can be heard instructing him to step outside his vehicle.

The officer can be heard telling King why he's being arrested: for mischief, counselling to commit the offence of mischief, counselling to commit the offence of obstructing a police officer and counselling to commit the offence of disobeying a court order.

In recent days, King has promised he would be the last convoy organizer to be arrested at the Ottawa protest.

Police are making a major sweep and clashing with some protesters as they move to clear demonstrators and end the three-week occupation.

King is now asking truckers to regroup at a truck stop outside the downtown to avoid having their vehicles seized.

He still says people who want to go to Parliament Hill on foot should do so.
