A member of the public posted photos of aircraft wreckage that have remained in the water since the aircraft crashed into Lake George Aug. 10.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada says the retrieval of the Challenger 2 Ultralight aircraft that crashed into Lake George Aug. 10 is the responsibility of the owner.

The float-equipped aircraft reportedly overturned on landing. The pilot and sole occupant, who sustained minor injuries in the incident, was rescued by a boater in the area.

In an email to SooToday, the Transportation Safety Board says it has determined the incident as a class 5 occurrence, meaning the investigation is limited to data gathering that will be used for statistical reporting and future analysis.

A class 5 occurrence indicates little or no release of dangerous goods, with minimal damage to property or the environment.
