With its Outstanding Business Achievement Awards only a few weeks away, the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce (SSMCOC) would like to take an opportunity to acknowledge the many exceptional businesses, agencies and individuals that were nominated for their entrepreneurship, innovations, and business savvy.
“In all, more than 250 nominations were received in 20 award categories. From those nominations, almost 60 of the nominees met the established award criteria and let their business, agency or individual names stand for nomination. An independent panel of chamber volunteers from a wide range of business sectors and backgrounds are now currently scoring the follow-up written submissions provided by each nominee. Once scored, the award recipients will be announced at the Chamber’s annual Outstanding Business Achievement Awards on Thursday, June 16,” said SSMCOC CEO Rory Ring describing the award nomination process.
Registration to attend the Outstanding Business Achievement Awards is now open on the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce website.
The Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome back both SooToday as our Outstanding Business Achievement Awards event sponsor and Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) as our presenting sponsor. Also joining us will be community partners, TD Bank Group and Kevanna Fine Photography.
Patricia Porco, SSMCOC president, notes that the chamber is excited to be able to return to an in-person OBAA event in 2022.
“Small businesses faced significant challenges during the pandemic, all the while stepping up to provide services and necessities and trying to ensure that jobs remained intact and that we all managed to maintain some level of normalcy through an incredibly tough time,” Porco said. “Many businesses had to adjust, innovate, rebuild, and rethink. That resiliency and innovation are worth celebrating and recognizing.”
The chamber applauds all of the businesses and organizations that have been nominated for one of this year’s Outstanding Business Achievement Awards and thanks the many individuals who took the time to nominate. All of these businesses, agencies and individuals are, in their own unique ways, innovators and leaders. They are all worthy of recognition for their successful pursuit of business excellence.
