Outspoken Brewing is once again pleading with customers to come in this weekend and stock up on their craft beer — while also hinting that the company plans to move forward in a “different way.”
After issuing an urgent online plea earlier this month, co-owners Vaughn Alexander and Graham Atkinson posted another cryptic video yesterday thanking the community for their support and asking for even more.
"Our intention is to continue," Alexander said in the video. "Our intention is to continue in a little bit of a different way, but in a successful way, so that we can be here for you."
Atkinson said that “every week that we get through the weekend, we’ll be able to provide another update.”
Outspoken Brewing has yet to respond to an interview request from SooToday.
The brewery unexpectedly closed its doors for the month of January, triggering many questions about its future and financial stability. Alexander and Atkinson then posted a video to social media, asking the community to rally behind the struggling beer maker.
"In all honesty and transparency, we need your help right now," Alexander said at the time. "It's been a very tough year. We have product to move. There's beer, there's cans, there's kegs.
"We need you to come in and stock up."
Like last weekend, the Queen Street East brewery will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The hours of operation will be made public at a later time on social media.
"Thank you Sault Ste. Marie for this weekend, it's exactly what we're looking for. It's exactly what we needed at this time," Alexander said in the latest video. "Your support is truly appreciated. It was great to see everybody come through the doors."
