OPP NEWS RELEASE

********************** Pollari missing person investigation re-opened

(Hilton Township, Ont.) - The East Algoma O.P.P. in conjunction with the Criminal Investigation Branch are revisiting the Justin J. Pollari missing person investigation.

Pollari (14 years old at the time of his disappearance) was reported missing on December 9 2001.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, hooded sweatshirt carrying a black backpack and a skateboard.

Justin was described as 5'10", 150 pounds, blue eyes and blond hair in a "Mohawk" hairstyle.

Officers will be conducting ground searches of the area where he was last seen based on numerous interviews that were conducted following his disappearance.

Although investigators have followed up on numerous alleged sightings since his disappearance police are still appealing to the public for assistance in this investigation.

The case has been reassigned to the Criminal Investigation Branch of the O.P.P. with assistance from criminal Investigators from East Algoma and Sault Ste. Marie.

The Forensic Identification Unit from Sault Ste. Marie and Emergency Response team members have been and will be conducting interviews, searching the grounds and the house on St. Joseph's Island where Pollari went missing.

Detective Inspector John Horne is leading this reinvestigation.
