Public Health Ontario has reported 194 new COVID-19 cases today and zero new deaths in the July 7 daily update.
Today's update notes 236 new recoveries and 19 new hospitalizations.
The July 7 update provided by the province's public health agency also reported the following data:
- 1,841 active, lab-confirmed cases, down from 1,883 yesterday.
- 201 COVID-positive people are currently hospitalized in Ontario.
- There are 220 patients in intensive care units with COVID-related illness (of those, 57 no longer test positive for COVID-19).
- 163 people are on ventilators due to COVID-related illness (of those, 35 no longer test positive for COVID-19).
- The province reported 26,976 tests were processed yesterday, resulting in a 0.9 per cent positivity rate.
- There are 12,072 tests still awaiting processing, and the provincial labs have processed 16 million tests to date.
- Of the new cases reported today, 42 are from Waterloo, 35 are from Toronto, 26 cases are from Peel, one is from Simcoe-Muskoka, 11 are from Grey Bruce, and three are from York Region.
- Today's cases include 32 individuals aged 19 and under, 76 people between 20 and 39 years old, 76 people between 40 and 59 years old, 28 people between 60 and 79 years old, and six people aged 80 and over.
Vaccines
- There were 204,594 doses of vaccines against COVID-19 administered yesterday.
- 16,126,179 doses of vaccine have been administered.
- In total, 6,069,647 people have been fully vaccinated.
Public Health Ontario has confirmed 546,411 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 535,346 recoveries and 9,224 deaths.
The cumulative average incidence rate in the province is 3,676 cases per 100,000 people in Ontario.
Ontario's average weekly incidence rate is 10 cases per 100,000 people, which is down by 19.4 per cent from the prior seven-day period.
Northern Ontario
In Northern Ontario, the breakdown of Public Health Ontario data is:
- Algoma Public Health: 400 cases, weekly rate of 0 cases per 100,000 people. There are no known active cases.
- North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit: 610 cases, weekly rate of 15.4 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 612 cases. There are 27 known active cases.
- Porcupine Health Unit: 2,082 cases, weekly rate of 45.5 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 2,084. There are 45 known active cases.
- Public Health Sudbury and Districts: 2,150 cases, weekly rate of 3 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 2,171 cases. There are six known active cases.
- Timiskaming Health Unit: 208 cases, weekly rate of 0 cases per 100,000 people. There are no known active cases.
- Northwestern Health Unit: 1,094 cases, weekly rate of 5.7 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 1,092. There are four known active cases.
- Thunder Bay District Health Unit: 3,340 cases, weekly rate of 0.7 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 3,341. There are four known active cases.
