Ontario reports 119 new COVID cases Monday

Public Health Ontario says there were three deaths due to COVID-19 over the past 24 hours

Public Health Ontario has reported 119 new COVID-19 cases today in the July 26 daily update.

Today's update includes 137 new recoveries and three deaths.

The July 26 update provided by the province's public health agency also reported the following data:

  • 1,429 active, lab-confirmed cases, down from 1,450 yesterday.
  • 96 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.
  • There are 131 patients in intensive care units with COVID-related illness (of those, 36 no longer test positive for COVID-19).
  • 79 people are on ventilators due to COVID-related illness (of those, 19 no longer test positive for COVID-19).
  • The province reported 11,930 tests were processed yesterday, resulting in a 1 per cent positivity rate. 
  • There are 3,558 tests still awaiting processing, and the provincial labs have processed 16.4 million tests to date.

Public Health Ontario has confirmed 549,447 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 538,702 recoveries and 9,316 deaths.

Vaccines

  • There were 65,920 doses of vaccines against COVID-19 administered yesterday.
  • 19,018,393 doses of vaccine have been administered.
  • In total, 8,625,932 people have been fully vaccinated.
