The Indigenous Visionary Award celebrates Indigenous leaders, entrepreneurs, and change-makers who have made a lasting impact on the community through innovation and leadership. The Newcomer Achievement Award recognizes individuals who are new to Canada or have recently returned to Sault Ste. Marie, honouring their contributions to the local economy and community development.

Strive, established in 2012 by the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce, was created to address a representation gap for young professionals. The organization, led by an elected executive, works collaboratively with various groups, individuals, and businesses within the community to provide networking events, learning development opportunities, and community involvement initiatives.

Nominations for deserving young professionals can be submitted until Nov. 30. To nominate an individual who has made remarkable contributions to the community, visit the website.

The AVA Gala serves as a platform to showcase the remarkable achievements of young professionals, fostering a spirit of inspiration and ambition within the community. Tickets for the event can be purchased on the official AVA website beginning Dec. 1.
