2016 marked the second year in a row the Sault College Pow Wow has partnered with the Bon Soo Winter Carnival.
It was also the second time Corby the Sault College Cougar defeated Mr. Bon Soo in a head-to-head dance off.
A gracious loser, Mr. Bon Soo stuck around following the competition to hang with fans an snap selfies.
Hosted in the Health and Wellness Centre, this year’s Sault College Pow Wow includes host drum Old Style Ojibway from Michigan and Wisconsin, co-host drum Bear Creek Drum, Barbara Nolan and Ted Recollet as the event’s head elders, arena director Donald Syrette, master of ceremonies Joel Syrette, Robert Bigtrack as head veteran, and a variety of vendors.
Festivities continue Sunday, February 14 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Sault College Health and Wellness Centre.
The Sault College Pow Wow is free to attend and open to everyone to enjoy.
On March 5 and 6, Algoma University will host its 11th annual Gathering at the Rapids Pow Wow at the George Leach Centre.
