Michael Pucci was clearly giving it his all to complete a bike rodeo course set up today by the Sault Ste. Marie City Police Service at Roberta Bondar tent pavilion.

Pucci joined in the rodeo to test and improve his bicycling skills and safety knowledge, after completing a questionnaire about the rules of the road.

Pucci (shown) also registered his bikw with the police so, if it's ever stolen, he has a better chance to recover it.

"We record the serial number and keep it on file, so if the bike ever turns up, we can get it back to the owner," says Constable Louise Oliver, a community services officer volunteering at the event today.

The bike registration and rodeo was one of more than 20 displays set up at the pavilion today all, aimed at increasing awareness of safety issues for kids, says Kim Seabrook, coordinator of Safe Communities Partnership.

Other activities offered at the free festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today included face painting, bus safety, a bubble pond, archery, chalk drawing and a water slide hosted by Sault Ste. Marie firefighters.

Case's Music School provided entertainment.
