Marc Dubé, Sault Ste. Marie mill manager at St. Mary's Paper Ltd., received special recognition at Sault College's 2003 Convocation over the weekend.
Dube was recognized as Sault College's nominee for the 2003 Premier's Awards, which recognize outstanding contributions to the economic and social vitality of the province by community college graduates across Ontario.

Each year, Sault College selects one or more of its outstanding alumni for the Ontario college system¹s Premier¹s Awards.
They were established in 1992 to recognize "outstanding contributions to the economic and social vitality of our province" by graduates from Ontario¹s 24 community colleges.
We are proud to introduce Sault College¹s 2003 Premier¹s Awards nominee.
Marc Dubé is among thousands of alumni who have graduated from the institution since it opened in 1965.
Forestry Technician - 1978
Marc is the Mill Manager for St. Marys Paper Ltd. in Sault Ste. Marie.
Advancement to this senior position in 2002 reflects Marc's steady progress through a 24-year career, most of which has been spent with St. Marys.
With annual sales surpassing $200 million, St. Marys Paper is an international leader in the manufacture of exceptional supercalendared products.
St. Marys' 436 employees make it Sault Ste. Marie¹s second largest industrial employer.
The company is widely recognized for its commitment to the environment.
Marc is also the President of an allied venture. St. Marys Paper and Air-Dale Flying Service Ltd. are partners in Ontario Wilderness Vacations.
In addition, he is past President and a current Director of North Shore Forest Inc., a forest management partnership in which St. Marys is involved.
Marc also led St. Marys Paper's participation in the formation of the Clergue Forest Management Group. On behalf of five shareholders, it manages 700,000 hectares of Crown Land in Northern Ontario.
Marc actively participates in many associated activities.
The province appointed him as Ontario¹s trustee on the International Great Lakes Forest Alliance.
He is also a member of the Ontario Forest Industry Association, representing St. Marys Paper.
This Premier¹s Awards nominee directly contributes to student success and academic excellence at his alma mater.
Marc is a long-time member of Sault College's Natural Resources Advisory Committee.
He is also his company¹s representative in ULERN (Upper Lakes Environmental Research Network), a multi-partner initiative with administrative headquarters at Sault College.
Marc contributes significantly to community life.
He is a member of the Government Relations Committee of the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce and volunteers time to youth sports.
