Mama bear, three cubs spotted in Black Road area

Randy Mitchell doesn’t want to scare anyone, but he doesn’t want anybody to “get the chomp” either.

So he’d like you to be aware that there has been a mama bear and three of the cutest little cubs you’ve ever seen roaming around his Black Road car lot the last couple days.

"These three little cubs, you wouldn't believe how cute they are," said the Auto Rama owner.

But he said he knows the situation is potentially dangerous.

He said he has contacted the MNR about possible relocation, suspecting the bears may have hibernated under one of his buildings.

The mother bear has been "hopping around on three legs for a few years,” and this isn’t the first time she has had cubs.

But he’s concerned that people browsing cars might stumble upon the protective mother and asks customers to be careful.

The adult bear herself, while missing an extremity, looks to be in great condition, said Mitchell.

“She’s just fat-looking. Beautiful hair on her,” said Mitchell.

He said he doesn’t want to see her harmed.
