When Lorena Tridico of Orlando's House of Beauty isn't busy defending City Council's decisions at the Ontario Municipal Board, she's standing up for the right of divas to look drop-dead gorgeous.

SooToday.com found Lorena this past week pinning hairpieces on the heads of passing cover girls at Diva 2005 at the Holiday Inn.

This picture shows Tridico and dental hygenist/diva Kim Caporossi, both sporting hairpieces from Orlando's House of Beauty on Queen Street.

The fund-raiser was organized by a team of seven insufferable divas from RBC Royal Bank.

It was a sell-out, with more than 300 divas packing the ballrooms at the Waterfront Holiday Inn.

"Everyone came," said a very-excited head Diva Donna Hackett, a financial advisor from RBC Royal Bank. "All the ticket holders came out tonight!"

Divas dished with friends they hadn't seen in ages and ages as they waited in line at the more popular displays and demonstrations.

Michael cuts Marlee

Some waited more than two hours to have their palms or tarot cards read by Carol of Enchanted Cups.

Marlee Douglas came specifically for a hair cut with Michael Cassadia of The Gallery Hair Salon on Queen.

Cassadia demonstrated a cut on Douglas and gave consultations to more than 100 other eager divettes.

Divas also lined up to have their make-up done, get a massage or a glamour portrait, among sensuous excesses.

Carol goes to heaven

Among the more popular stops was the chocolate fountain from Everything Chocolate.

"There is about 20 pounds of melted Belgian chocolate circulating through that fountain right now," Everything Chocolate Proprietor Frank Colosimo told SooToday.com as our intrepid investigator took her place at the back of the line – again.

If you check out our photo gallery from this event, you'll see Lori Naccarato-Sarlo modelling a three-carat diamond bracelet from Savoy's Jewellers, just four inches from that flowing fountain of creamy delight, as she drizzled chocolate over strawberries.

Lucky Lindy

Winner of the $6,000 piece was Lindy Ober, whose husband bought her a ticket to the event for Valentine's Day.

Catherine Rising had the winning ticket for the two-day spa trip for two from Travel Masters and St. Anne's Resort.

Hackett tells us the amount raised will be announced early this week when the numbers have all been tallied.

She also says they plan to do it again next year but bigger and better.

"Next year we plan to take over the whole first floor of the Holiday Inn," she said. "And they're totally on board with it."

All the demonstrations for the evening's entertainment were included in the price of the ticket and some of the demonstrators gave away free gifts, door-prizes or offered discounts on services or products.
