************************* The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service has completed their investigation into allegations of impropriety, on the part of one more persons, relative to the 2006 Municipal Election held here in Sault Ste. Marie on the 13th of November 2006.
The culmination of this investigation has resulted in a total of eighteen charges being levied against eight individuals.
These charges are provincial offences (non-criminal) and were laid under The Municipal Elections Act of Ontario.
Specifically: Rita Cipriano of 20 Superior Drive, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario
- Furnish False Information (1 count) contrary to Section 89(h) of the Act
- Vote in a place other than where entitled to vote (1 count) contrary to Section 89 (c) of the Act Natalina Muzzi of 151 Wallace Terrace, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario - Furnish False Information (1 count) contrary to Section 89(h) of the Act
- Vote in a place other than where entitled to vote (1 count) contrary to Section 89 (c) of the Act Vito Muzzi of 151 Wallace Terrace, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario - Furnish False Information (1 count) contrary to Section 89(h) of the Act
- Vote in a place other than where entitled to vote (1 count) contrary to Section 89 (c) of the Act Concetta Palumbo of 70 Creery Avenue, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario - Furnish False Information (1 count) contrary to Section 89(h) of the Act
- Vote in a place other than where entitled to vote (1 count) contrary to Section 89 (c) of the Act
Graziella Tridico of 670 Wellington Street West, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario - Party to the commission of the offence of furnishing false information (2 counts) contrary to Section 89(h) of the Act
- Party to the commission of the offence of voting in a place other than where entitled to vote (2 counts) contrary to Section 89(c) of the Act Immacolata Tridico of 454 Moody Street, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario - Furnish False Information (1 count) contrary to Section 89(h) of the Act
- Vote in a place other than where entitled to vote (1 count) contrary to Section 89 (c) of the Act Lorena Tridico of 454 Moody Street, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario
- Party to the commission of the offence of furnishing false information (2 counts) contrary to Section 89(h) of the Act
- Party to the commission of the offence of voting in a place other than where entitled to vote (2 counts) contrary to Section 89(c) of the Act Orlando Tridico of 454 Moody Street, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario
- Vote in a place other than where entitled to vote (1 count) contrary to Section 89 (c) of the Act
- Furnish False Information (1 count) contrary to Section 89(h) of the Act.
A Provincial Offences court date has been set for Wednesday the 27th of June 2007 at 9 a.m. here in Sault Ste. Marie.
