London resident charged with spousal assault in Wawa

An overnight call on the weekend has led to a 54-year-old being charged in Wawa.

Shortly before 1 a.m. on Aug. 12, officers with the Superior East detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Broadway Avenue.

As a result of the investigation, a 54-year-old from London was arrested and charged with one count of spousal assault.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear back in court in September.

Due to the domestic nature of the incident, police are not releasing the name of the accused in order to protect the identify of the alleged victim.
