Students from Ben R. McMullin Public School used Halloween to hold a family dance and bake sale in support of St. Vincent Place.
The event was organized and led by Grade 7/8 students and raised $950 while also collecting 474 canned goods.
"This student-led initiative exemplified the spirit of compassion and community, encouraging families to come together for a night of Halloween-themed fun while supporting a local organization making a positive impact," a release noting the donation said.
"St. Vincent Place provides essential services to individuals in need, and the funds and goods raised will help them continue their work in providing food, shelter, and hope to those who need it most."
"We are so proud of our students for their leadership and commitment to giving back," said Greg Murray, the school principal.
"This event reflects the strength of our school community and the generosity of everyone who participated. Thank you to all the families who attended, donated, and supported this meaningful cause."
