On Saturday, Nov. 5, Nogdawindamin Family and Community Service will be hosting an event called Walking Together For Reconciliation in Sault Ste. Marie. This will be an awareness walk to bring attention to the issues of racism and discrimination, while also allowing community members and allies to show support for creating positive change. The event will take place at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion (65 Foster Dr.) in Sault Ste. Marie, beginning at 1:30 p.m. There is no charge to participate, and we are not collecting pledges or donations – the walk is strictly for awareness.

In addition to community members and allies living in or near Sault Ste. Marie, we are also extending an invitation to community members from across the North Shore. To help facilitate travel, we have made arrangements for a bus to travel west from Sudbury on the day of the walk and then return later in the day. The bus will make stops in or near Atikameksheng, Sagamok (Massey), Serpent River, Mississauga First Nation, and Thessalon as per the schedule noted on the attached flyer. Any persons interested in travelling by bus to the event are asked to RSVP to Nogdawindamin Communications ([email protected]). Limited seating is available.
