Born and raised in the Sault, war veteran Luke Cyr has discovered his calling as a caddie and raises funds for the Caddie School for Soldiers, a veteran non-profit that aims to help veterans work through physical injuries and/or Post Traumatic Stress by bringing them to St. Andrews in Scotland for a month to train to become caddies

A local charitable foundation will host a gala next month aimed at raising awareness and funds to support mental health initiatives for veterans.

The March to the Light Charity Gala will feature an engaging evening program, including a presentation by veteran Luke Cyr, who was featured in a story earlier this year by SooToday reporter Alex Flood.

The Nov. 1 event takes place at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 25.

Tickets are available at this eventbrite link.

“This event will allow us to connect, raise awareness, and inspire change. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who have given so much.”
