For the 10th consecutive year, Northside Toyota is fighting hunger in Sault Ste. Marie by kicking off their annual holiday fundraiser.
Northside Toyota will match the first $1,000 donated online to the campaign, which collects non-perishable food donations and monetary contributions from the community.
The community’s online donations will be amplified with the support of ASAPP OXP, Fremlin Builders, Joe Ruscio Professional Corporation, Savoy’s Jewellers, SooToday, and Spadafora Johnson Lepore LLP, a news release said.
You can also support this initiative by helping Fill the Tundra in person this holiday season.
From now until Dec. 14, shoppers are encouraged to drop off donations at Pino’s Get Fresh, Rome’s Independent Grocer and Northside Toyota.
Non-perishable food items can be placed in the back of the Fill the Tundra vehicles that will be at each of the three locations. Both St. Vincent Place and the Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen are happy to receive any donation, however the items they often run out of include canned milk, granola bars, peanut butter and jam.
Shoppers at Pino’s and Rome’s can also make monetary donations at the checkout of either store.
“Fill the Tundra continues to showcase the strength and generosity of our community. By coming together to fill the bed of the Tundra with canned goods, we’re not just stocking shelves—we’re spreading hope and kindness," said Mario Palumbo, Dealer Principal.
"This initiative is near and dear to our hearts at Northside Toyota. It’s a symbol of compassion, showing that together, we can create meaningful change and celebrate the spirit of giving that defines who we are as a community.”
All donations will stay in the community, supporting both the Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen and St. Vincent Place.
