LETTER: Should COVID rules be enforced by police?

COVID is here, the risks are known

I question what laws or authority the APH is acting under, and why is it being enforced by sworn law enforcement personnel?

I do not believe this falls under the criminal code.

At best, if APH has the authority, it may fall under bylaw regulations, and should be enforced by bylaw officials.

I’m sorry to see that fundamental freedoms are being so willingly erased by officials, bent and determined to save people from the perils of gathering together in groups of 11 or more.

Lastly, as APH is in charge of sewage etc., did they send SWAT to the trailer park north of the Sault to clean all those people out? No, of course not.

It’s time to get a grip. COVID is here, the risks are known, so let the people make their own decisions.
