Are you a last-minute Christmas shopper and don’t feel like buying a boring gift card?

We know you’re out there, so SooToday visited a few downtown merchants to find out what they had in store for the Sault’s tardy consumers.

Zenith at Shabby Motley Handcraft told us the shop’s hand made items such as socks, hats and scarves are very popular this season.

After she took us on a 15-minute tour of the store highlighting some of the shop’s more unique items – including camel, opossum, and Stansborough fibre – we came to the conclusion that everything at Shabby Motley makes an awesome last-minute gift.

Erin at the Algoma Bicycle Company recommended cozy socks and gloves, ski wax, water bottles and hand warmers as perfect stocking stuffers.

Also, buffs. Lots and lots of buffs.

“Everyone can always use 30,000 buffs,” she joked.

“If you really like the person, you can buy them a fancy bike.”

Mark at Northland Music said he still has a few electric guitar starter packages that include the guitar, amp, gig bag, and stand all starting at $269.

Accessories such as tuners, strings, and polish were also popular recommendations.

Patrick at Planeview Hobbies said models and Magic the Gathering are in demand this year, while Richard at Savoy’s Jewellers told us two brands are dominating the season - Michael Kors and Swarovski.

He said he has a hard time keeping Swarovski Bella earrings and Swarovski snowflakes in stock.

And because of the relatively affordable price tag and the variety of styles and colours, a Michael Kors watch makes the perfect Christmas gift.
