Around 200 participants came together at the Root River Golf Course for the first annual Blood, Seat and Beer Charity Run in 2022.

The second annual Blood, Sweat and Beer 5km charity walk/run is scheduled to take place at the Root River Golf Course on Saturday, Oct. 21.

The event in support of the Alzheimer’s Society includes four beverage stops where participants can sample a variety of beer from Moosehead Breweries and Creemore Springs.

Each $60 registration includes an event wag bag, four beer samples, one complimentary beverage, a grand prize ballot, a finisher medal and a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Participants can take part in activities throughout the day, including a putting competition to win a Solo stove and camping chairs, a beer pong contest to win a Yeti prize pack, and the Halloween costume contest for a chance to win an LCBO gift card.

Event check-in begins at 10:15 a.m. on Oct. 21. The run kicks off at 12 p.m. and the after party – which features music, food and refreshments, and a variety of vendors – starts at 12:30 p.m.

Participants must register in advance. Online registration closes on Oct. 11.
