Just two days after Jian Ghomeshi tweeted to followers that he would be "taking some much needed personal time", CBC announced it was cutting ties with the popular host of Q.
"The CBC is saddened to announce its relationship with Jian Ghomeshi has come to an end. This decision was not made without serious deliberation and careful consideration. Jian has made an immense contribution to the CBC and we wish him well," the public broadcaster said in a statement today.
After much public speculation across social media as to the cause of his dismissal, Ghomeshi issued a statement explaining his side of the story.
