If your internet isn't working the way it should it may be due to an outage currently being reported by Shaw.
Shaw posted the following note about the situation this morning:
"Some customers may be experiencing internet connectivity issues to websites in Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, and Sault Ste Marie at this time.
Our Network Analysts are aware and investigating these challenges that have been reported.
Clearing of your Domain Name System (DNS) may help improve connectivity during this time; for more information on how to reset your DNS, please visit this page How to reset the Domain Name System (DNS).
We are working to restore internet services as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconveniences caused."
CanadianOutages.com says Shaw outages have also been reported in Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Calgary, Toronto, Victoria, Surrey, Prince George and Burnaby.
