The International Bridge Administration reports via Twitter: "@saultbridge is now reopened to all traffic. We thank our bridge customers for their patience."
6:53 p.m. original news release from The International Bridge Administration:
**************************
Due to snow and ice falling from the arches, the International Bridge Administration (IBA) has temporarily closed the Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge as a safety precaution as of about 5 p.m. today.
There is no estimated time for the bridge to reopen, as it is weather-dependent. The IBA will post updates on the closure on its website, www.saultbridge.com, and its Twitter feed, @SaultBridge, and will immediately post a notice when the bridge reopens.
Customers should check the website or Twitter feed before approaching the bridge, so as to avoid being stuck in a traffic queue.
