Huron Shores man charged with impaired driving in Thessalon

After responding to a complaint about a possible impaired driver in Thessalon on Nov. 11, East Algoma OPP charged Paul Nordgren with operation while impaired. 

The Huron Shores man is scheduled to appear in count on Jan. 6, 2022.

On Nov. 11, 2021, at approximately 12:15 p.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic related complaint of a possible impaired driver on Frances Street in Thessalon.

A vehicle and driver description, and location were provided to police. Police attended the area a short time after and conducted a vehicle stop. As a result, the driver was arrested and the vehicle was towed and impounded. 

Paul Nordgren, 62 years-old, from Huron Shores was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired - Alcohol and Drugs, contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
  • Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus), contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the CC

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on January 6, 2022.
