A surprise donation of over 80+ toys from the Sault Area Hospital has helped complete the Stuff a Truck and Trailer initiative by Christie's RV and Prouse Chevrolet.

"Compassion is one of the values at Sault Area Hospital, and this is just one of the ways that we can show our support to the families of our community for the holiday season," explained Angie Gervasi, a process improvement consultant.

Each year, the Sault Area Hospital's Leadership Development Institute collaborates with a community partner to help give back to the community. Their goal is to help their leadership strive for excellence in patient care and focus on how they can give back to their community.

"This community's willingness to give is amazing!" said Sam Bruni, sales manager at Christie's RV. "Not only did we raise a large amount of non-perishable food items and toys but the public gave us over $750 in cash donations. That's incredible."

This donation was matched by both Christie's RV and Prouse Chevrolet to total over $2,300 in monetary donations.

"We want to give a big thank you to our customers, volunteers, the public, and community partners that helped make this initiative great," said Robert Prouse, owner of Prouse Chevrolet. "We wouldn't have been able to do it without the Sault Area Hospital, Rome's Independent Grocer, Pino's Get Fresh, City Meat Market, Station Mall, and the Essar Centre."

This is the first year Prouse Chevrolet and Christie's RV have partnered together to collect for Christmas Cheer. The food and toy drive was a great success and both businesses hope it continues next year.

The huge response was very heart-warming and the Sault Area Hospital, Prouse Chevrolet, and Christie's RV hope that their initiatives help the 1,500+ families in the Sault and Algoma region have a happier Christmas.
