The Marconi Multicultural Event Centre is proud to once again host the beloved Original Recipe Rabbit Dinner, an event dedicated to raising funds for essential medical equipment at the Group Health Centre (GHC).

“We’re thrilled to partner with GHC again this fall to bring back a seasonal favourite,” said Stephen MacNamara, General Manager of Marconi. “The incredible feedback from last year’s dinner inspired us to host it once more.”

This year's event, set for Friday, Oct. 25, will feature a delicious five-course Italian meal. It will start with an assortment of antipasti followed by comforting chicken noodle soup. Guests will enjoy penne in a rich, sun-ripened tomato sauce, leading up to the evening’s star dish—oven-roasted rabbit, served alongside garlic-infused rapini and golden roasted potatoes.

In addition to the fantastic meal, guests will be treated to live entertainment by the talented Matthew James and can participate in a silent auction featuring exciting items. Dr. Jodie Stewart will also speak on behalf of the Group Health Centre and the Algoma District Medical Group (ADMG).

Tickets are priced at $110 per person or $800 for a table of eight and will be available until Oct. 21.

“We’re incredibly grateful to the Marconi Event Centre for this opportunity to raise funds for much-needed medical equipment,” said Tricia Lesnick, GHC Trust Fund Manager. “Upgrading and replacing equipment is essential in our efforts to improve patient care and attract primary care providers to the community.”

With no government funding allocated for medical equipment, healthcare facilities like GHC must rely on community support to meet these critical needs. Without the proper equipment, patients could face longer wait times or even the added cost of travelling for care.

Join us in making a meaningful difference in healthcare! The GHC provides healthcare services to over 70,000 patients in the community, with more than 300,000 visits across its eight sites in Sault Ste. Marie.
