A combination of Winners and HomeSense stores will open in the former Zellers plaza by the end of next month, says a rep for the parent company.
The 32,500-foot superstore will open May 30, said Jordan White, senior public relations specialist for parent company TJX Canada, in an email to SooToday.
The existing Winners location at 44 Great Northern Rd. will close on May 25.
White did not answer when asked if current employees will be moved to the new store.
"For those interested in joining the TJX Canada team, we encourage candidates to apply for open positions online," she said.
White said the stores will offer designer and name brand merchandise at prices lower than department or specialty stores.
A Princess Auto store opened in the same plaza last month.
The plaza was formerly home to a Zellers store and, before that, a KMart.
