High fives all around! SooToday donates $5K and 500 cookies to five Sault charities

Village Media continues to celebrate its 10th year of operation here in Sault Ste. Marie by supporting local shelters, food banks

SooToday (and our parent company Village Media) are as local as it gets. We were born in the Sault and have grown into a company that employs more than 50 people right here in the centre of our hometown (as well as another 100 throughout Ontario).

We live, work and play in Sault Ste. Marie and have a vested interest in strengthening our community.

Over the last decade, Village Media has invested in countless local sponsorships and community partnerships to promote, support and uplift non-profit organizations, programs and initiatives.

To celebrate our recent 10th anniversary milestone, we were thrilled to donate $1,000 each to five separate organizations that are on the front lines of helping vulnerable populations in our community: The Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen Community Centre, St. Vincent Place, Pauline’s Place, Women in Crisis and the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society.

While these organizations stopped by our downtown office to pick up their donations, we also shared the 500 Holiday Smile Cookies that our readers helped us purchase, for them to share with community members who use their food banks and shelter resources. The cookies are sure to make the day of many in our community!

A big thank you to our community for your ongoing support and readership of SooToday and to the incredible teams at our local non-profits who are putting in the work to make Sault Ste. Marie a better place. It takes a Village.
