Here's your chance to win a trip to SuperBowl LIX

The principal of Korah Collegiate and Vocational School is encouraging the public to play for a chance to win the school’s 15th annual SuperBowl raffle after hundreds of tickets were distributed to local businesses earlier this week. 

This year’s raffle will see the winner and a lucky guest receive a travel package for SuperBowl LIX, which takes place at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Feb. 9, 2025. 

Tickets for the raffle are now available for $20 a piece.  

“The trip is five days, so it’s not just go to the game and come back — there’s all kinds of perks to it with pre-game parties, tailgate parties and welcome baskets and souvenirs,” said Korah Collegiate principal Steve Caruso. “It’s actually a pretty neat package that they win.”

Valued at approximately $35,000 in Canadian dollars, the winner will receive the following as part of their prize package:   

• Two SuperBowl tickets in 400 level   
• Round-trip airfare for two 
• Five-night stay in four-star New Orleans property
• Daily breakfast for two at hotel  
• Two tickets to welcome reception with open bar and food
• Two tickets to pre-game tailgate party with open bar and food 
• Two deluxe SuperBowl gift bags
• Two tickets to NFL Experience event
• Round-trip transfers to SuperBowl and airport  

“I don’t think there’s a bigger event than the SuperBowl every year, and we’re fortunate that we have a contact so that we can solidify these tickets, and this whole prize package that goes along with it,” Caruso said.

The first round of raffle tickets were distributed to players on Korah’s sports teams last week, with more books of tickets being made available in more than two dozen local businesses over the course of this week. 

Proceeds from the raffle help reduce the costs associated with a number of extracurricular activities for students, Caruso said, whether it’s robotics, musical theatre or sports. Korah Collegiate has raised more than $330,000 in all over the past 14 years that the popular draw has taken place. 

“It’s kind of a staggering amount, and that goes right back to the kids’ activities,” Caruso said. 

The winning ticket will be drawn Jan. 17, 2025 at the Korah Collegiate and Vocational School gymnasium.
