A number of Sault Ste. Marie businesses will be closed for Family Day, the first long weekend of 2025.

Most grocery stores will be closed for the Monday holiday, including Walmart, Pino’s Get Fresh, Food Basics, No Frills, and local Metro locations.

The Beer Store and LCBO locations will also be closed, as will YMCA of Sault Ste. Marie.

Many local drug stores, however, will be open for the holiday with reduced hours.

The Shoppers Drug Mart at Cambrian Mall will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the Shoppers on Second Line will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Rexall on Trunk Road will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., as will the location at Second Line and Wellington Street.

Numerous city facilities will also be closed on Monday, and garbage collection will be shifted one day later for the remainder of week. More about which city facilities are open and closed may be found here.
