Ontarians are on the verge of a long weekend.

Here's what city facilities will be closed today for Family Day.

  • Cemetery office
  • City Landfill
  • GFL Memorial Gardens
  • John Rhodes arena
  • Northern Community Centre arena, walking track and community space
  • The Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site
  • Fire Services Administrative offices
  • GFL Memorial Gardens administrative office and box office
  • Public Works and Engineering office – 128 Sackville Road. For 24-hour emergency service requests, call 705-759-5201.
  • Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre
  • Sault Transit main office
  • Bay Street Active Living Centre 55+ and the Northern Community Centre Active 55+

Here's what will be operating on Family Day.

  • Outdoor boarded skating rinks and ice pads – Art Jennings Speed Skating Oval, Anna McCrea, Merrifield and Esposito rinks and the Clergue Park Skating Trail and the Down Plaza will be open.
  • The James L. McIntyre Centennial Library is open from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm, but the North Branch Library is CLOSED.
  • John Rhodes Pool parent and child and lane swim will be open from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Public Swim from 1:15 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Transit Service: On Monday, February 17, an hourly schedule will be followed with the first bus departing the terminal at 6:15 a.m. and last bus departing the terminal at 11:15 p.m. Parabus service will run as usual. There is no Community Bus. For transit information, call 705-759-5438.
