A winter weather travel advisory is in effect for Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding areas.
Environment Canada is expecting another 5 to 10 cm of snow to fall Wednesday evening into early Thursday.
“The heaviest snow is expected during the evening hours, which could affect the evening commute,” the advisory stated.
Drivers are advised to be ready for potentially hazardous conditions.
“Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance,” Environment Canada added.
An Alberta Clipper is expected to bring us additional snow on Thursday, however “amounts are not expected to be significant.”

Lake effect snow off Lake Superior could affect the region beginning early this evening. The heaviest snow is expected during the evening hours which could affect the evening commute. Additional snow associated with an Alberta Clipper is expected on Thursday, although amounts are not expected to be significant.
Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
