Sault College graduating students from the Digital Photography and Imaging program invite you to join them in their premiere photography show Diversity.

The show takes place in Essar Hall at the college on April 21 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Diversity was born from the idea that all seven graduating students come from different backgrounds with different interests.

“We are an eclectic group when it comes to our tastes in photography;” says Wes Handren, the class president.

The event will showcase images ranging from creative portraits, gorgeous landscapes, high-end fashion shots as well as some fine art pieces.

"When starting into this course, I never actually realized how difficult and complex photography could be. Nowadays everybody is calling themselves a photographer because everyone has a camera at the tip of their fingers. Less and less people recognize a good photograph and ignore all the work that goes into it. I want to change that!" says Alyssa Garson, one of the graduates of the class.

Over the past two years, these emerging photographers have been armed with the skills and knowledge to produce high quality images at Sault College.

They have been encouraged to explore their interests and imaginations, and bring them to life through their work.

“They are no longer students; they are now ready to be professionals photographers in the Sault Ste. Marie community,” says Brian Tremblay, professor of photography at Sault College.

Diversity takes place at Sault College‘s Essar Hall on April 21 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

This event is open to the public and is free-of-charge.
