Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work in a fast-paced newsroom at the cutting edge of technology?

It’s probably not that different from what you’re picturing.

Whether it’s characters like Murphy Brown and Clark Kent, or newsrooms such as the Boston Globe in the film Spotlight, notions of what it’s like to work in the news are featured throughout pop culture.

The industry is often as exciting as it looks on TV, in film, and in books, especially when you work with the super women and super men that I have the privilege of calling coworkers.

Journalism is an interesting profession. There are so many different ways to do what we do.

I studied broadcast and print, so I learned how to be on the radio and on TV, but I specialized in being a newspaper or digital reporter because I really enjoy writing.

At SooToday we combine all three elements with Scott Sexsmith’s daily podcast that runs on the site mid-day and his Closer Look video interview segment each night at 7 p.m., and of course the many stories, photos and videos taken by our reporters.

Now with the launch of Inside SooToday on SPACES, you can follow along with our team as we chase big stories.

Watch for hints about what we’re working on, tidbits that didn’t make it into our stories, snapshots from when we’re out on assignment, and more.

Our reporters and editors might also provide some insight into who they are, what makes them tick and what they love about working at SooToday.

To experience for yourself what it’s like to work in a real newsroom, follow us now on Inside SooToday on SPACES.
